Text Colorizer Tool

How To Use:

Click the colored circles to insert that color's tag into the input.
You can also use the color picker to select your own color.
Any hex color tag supports a format of #RRGGBB or #RRGGBBAA (where AA is the alpha).
For instance, {#FF00007F} is interpreted as red at half opacity.
Click the preview box to copy the colorized text to your clipboard.

Important Notes:

TF2 chat is limited to 127 characters.
Standard color tags add 14 characters; ones with variable opacity add 16.
Using the {reset} tag to reset colors only adds 1 character.
Colors will only work in team chat or while dead, unless you make a change to your localization files.
To fix that locally, and allow you to see colors in normal chat, click here.
1. Navigate to TF2's /tf/ folder.
2. Open "tf_english.txt".
3. Search for "TF_Chat_All" (around line ~533 as of 3/25/2025).
4. Change "%s1 : %s2" to "%s1 : %s2".
